Rosie Slammed for Race Comments

Big Surprise: Rosie is a bigot

I will let you read the article yourself.

It is well known that she will get all pissy if you dont immedeatly kow-tow to her beliefs on anything relating to gays and lesbians (disclaimer: I hold no such predjudice. Hell, my barber-hairdresser-whatever is gay. He has been cutting my hair for over 5 years.), but it doesnt surprise me that she holds predjudices herself. She is also on record as being rabidly anti-gun. Poor Tom Selleck. How could anyone do that to him?

Anyway, its pretty obvious that she needs to do some soul searching and find out why she demands (or seems to demand) that everyone be completely tolerant of her lifestyle and views, but will get downright nasty if someone doesnt agree with her.

Zell Miller for President! :-D

Zell Miller Blasts John Kerry

This one deserves posting in full, but I will give you the highlights:

"Miller said the nation is more secure with Bush in the White House.

"With John Kerry on national security, it's vacillate, retreat and turn over to the U.N.," he said. "With John Kerry on domestic policy, it's tax, spend and redistribute income." And we all know how I loathe the UN and redistributing income.

He called Kerry's Senate voting record on national defense "shameful," declaring that Kerry voted "against every single major weapons system that won the Cold War."

"The man now wants to be the commander in chief of U.S. armed forces? U.S. forces armed with what, spitballs?" LOL! Gotta love this guy...

Miller said Kerry's handlers are trying to soften the Democratic candidate's image and depict him as an average guy.

"Look, John Kerry couldn't find Main Street with both hands," he said. "You can't make a chicken swim and you can't make John Kerry anything but an out-of-touch ultraliberal from Taxachusetts." " Can't exactly argue with that.

"But he has ruffled the feathers of Democratic colleagues since his appointment to the Senate, siding with Republicans on virtually every key issue and writing a best-selling book in which he accuses his party of being out of touch with Southern voters. " Well, most southern Democrats are conservative and have conservative values. Some (for reasons I can't begin to fathom) won't vote Republican because of Lincoln.

Some of you reading may wonder if I truely am a libertarian. Well, I am. Dubbya is growing on me, ever so slowly. Would I choose him if my only choice was between him and sKerry? Sure. Does Dubbya 'worry' me? Sure. No doubt about it. Along with Ashcroft , whose only redeeming quality as AG is saying that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right, not a collective one. He also said it had reasonable restrictions that could be placed upon it too. Well, you have to have a starting point, I suppose.

But getting back on topic: Kerry absolutely SCARES me. Lets see: he is all over the map in stated opinions (think nailing Jell-o to a wall), he is all for taxing the ever-loving Hell out of everyone, he parades as the "average guy" when he couldn't find average with 2 hands and a map, he is on record as voting more leftist than that drunken, ranting, Oldsmobile-encased-intern drowning TEDDY FUCKING KENNEDY of all people, wants a 50cent per gallon of gas tax increase, and would single handedly hand over the sovereignty of the US to the United Nations!

Think of me not as a pro-Dubbya guy, but as an Anybody-but-Kerry guy.

Bremer: We'll Leave Iraq if Asked

Bremer: We'll Leave Iraq if Asked

" With American troops facing continuing battles in Iraq, the Bush administration on Friday did little to play down remarks by U.S. civilian administrator L. Paul Bremer (search), who said the United States would withdraw after the June 30 handover if the Iraqi Governing Council requested.

"We don't stay in countries where we're not wanted. So if the provisional government, the interim government were to ask us to leave, we would leave," Bremer told a delegation visiting Baghdad on Friday from Iraq's Diyala province. "

Gee, these sure do sound like the words of an oppressive imperialist oil-driven regime...

Hybrid Mileage Comes Up Short

Not so great afterall...

"But after a few months of commuting to his job in Cincinnati, Blackshaw's hybrid euphoria vanished as his car's odometer revealed that the gas mileage he was hoping for was only a pipe dream. Honda's Civic Hybrid is rated by the EPA to get 47 miles per gallon in the city, and 48 mpg on the highway. After nearly 1,000 miles of mostly city driving, Blackshaw was getting 31.4 mpg. "

...

"Data from independent product-testing organization Consumer Reports indicates that hybrid cars get less than 60 percent of EPA estimates while navigating city streets. In Consumer Reports' real-world driving test, the Civic Hybrid averaged 26 mpg in the city, while the Toyota Prius averaged 35 mpg, much less than their respective EPA estimates of 47 and 60 mpg. Hybrid cars performed much closer to EPA estimates in Consumer Reports' highway tests."

26mpg??? I get 23-24mpg on the highway in my V8-powered 20yr old Benz doing 80mph! A hybrid should be getting double that in town! I am so glad I bought my motorcycle that gets over 50mpg even with my fat ass on it...

Presidential push fails to quell GOP fear of Patriot Act

Wow. Some Repubicans can think for themselves...

" group of libertarian-minded Republicans in Congress is blocking President Bush’s effort to strengthen domestic counterterrorism laws and reauthorize the USA Patriot Act, which the president has made one of his top domestic priorities this year.

As a result of this opposition, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, was forced last week to cancel panel consideration of legislation that would have given law-enforcement officials more tools to pursue suspected terrorists."

...

"Fifty-eight lawmakers, including six Republicans, have co-sponsored legislation sponsored by Rep. Butch Otter (R-Idaho) in the House that would rein in aspects of the Patriot Act.

In the Senate, four Republicans have joined 12 Democrats in co-sponsoring similar legislation introduced by Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho), a former head of the Republican Policy Committee and a close friend of Attorney General John Ashcroft. Craig and Ashcroft had dinner together two weeks ago, but they did not discuss their clashing views on the Patriot Act.

The Craig legislation would place greater restrictions on roving wire taps, require law-enforcement officials to notify the targets of “sneak and peek” searches within seven days after a search, restrict the use of nationwide search warrants and amend the section of the Patriot Act that allow for secret searches of library and bookstore records. "

Larry Craig is THE MAN. He made watching C-SPAN during the S.1805 debate not just tolerable, but almost riveting! (S. 1805 was the tort reform for gun manufacturers bill)

I am so glad that lawmakers are coming to their senses concerning the Patriot Act. The mere fact that all someone has to do is accuse you of performing terrorist activities (which are never defined by the way) to have your Constitutionally-guaranteed rights broken is VERY SCARY. Terrorist activities could be defined as anything an administration wants, from talking "to the wrong people" to owning firearms to "saying the wrong things about the wrong people."

Remember to parrot the following: IGNORANCE IS STREGNTH. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. WAR IS PEACE.

Surveys: More Iraqis Want Democracy

Newsday.com: Surveys: More Iraqis Want Democracy Brought to you by drudge...

Well, its nice to know that our military's actions are going towards a cause that the people they are fighting for desire. Even though I dont necessarily agree with "nation-building", Iraq was us just finishing Bush 41's job. Even if our own people dont appreciate it, the Iraqis who we are helping do for the most part. The terrorists on the other hand, just want us all dead. Even the anti-war protesters.

"Both pollsters found Iraqis growing more impatient with the presence of coalition troops, even before the prison abuse controversy emerged. However, most favored getting rid of Saddam Hussein.

Iraqis have identified some successful areas in post-Saddam Iraq, the pollsters found.

"One of the things that comes up again and again as a success in the transition so far is education," Sahm said. He also mentioned increasing trust in the Iraqi police and the new Iraqi army."

Well, I suppose I would too, after all, its hard to sleep and travel with gunfire.

In my opinion, we need to choose one of the following options:

  • A. Stop playing pattycake, and go in like we went to win. Like we did in WWII France. We went to liberate them, and that is what we did. We didnt pussy foot around.

  • B. Pull out.

Either we start playing like we went there to win, or we take our ball and go home. Personally, I think we should say "To Hell" with not offending delicate sensiblities, and just start clearing buildings. The extremists we are fighting think we all need to die anyway. Churches werent off limits for the enemy to hide in in WWII Europe, and the terrorists we are fighting have followed the same game plan with their Mosques. Well, in Europe we went in and cleared the churches of those who defiled them (namely the Germans who used them for sniper towers). From what I know of Islam (a religion of peace), those terrorists who sit in the Iraqi Mosques are defiling the good name of Islam.

So, which will it be: A or B?

Kerry Absence Dooms Jobless Benefits Vote

Poor & downtrodden dont seem to be this candidate's main focus, like the Democratic Party says...

Some how, this doesnt surprise me. I mean, whom do you think represents the average joe democrat: a blue-collar worker with a family and stretching every last dollar for food on the table, or a guy who marries heiresses? This guy wouldnt know the plight of the typical representative of the Democratic party if it bit him in the ass. But, he does has time to come back and ban all centerfire hunting ammunition because Teddy Kennedy said so, as well as vote against tort reform and for an expansion of the Assault Weapons Ban, that bans cosmetic features on military-style semi-automatic firearms. Remember that little pic of Kerry donning the hunting gear to show how much of a regular guy who hunts he is? And then he goes and bans all ammo inluding .30-30, a cartridge that has probably taken more deer than any other. Yup, he sure is a friend of hunters...

What the hell is an "assault weapon" anyway? A weapon that can be used for assault? Hell, that can be anything from a pencil in my desk, a bit of string used as a garrot, something heavy used to bash someone, etc. ad infinitum ad nauseum.

Wow, that was longer than I thought it would be and was one hell of a digression. I need to blog more to not bottle that stuff up...:-D

Sorry I havent been posting much...

Ahh, school's out, I have B's for final grades (for the ones I didnt drop...), and I have been busy.

Planned activities and current goings on:

  • Its warm out, therefore I mow once a week out at Mom's. If I dont, it gets knee-high to a giraffe pretty fast. If I wait too long, I cant see the giraffes :-O...

  • I have started a new exercise regimen. This 300lb crap is going to stop pronto.

  • Straightening out all my fraternity business. Been kinda slacking for a couple months, and nationals gets pissy.

  • I have to clean up my room. Its just clutter, but its getting stacked up. I kinda putter around with it now, but if it ever gets to where I can reach stuff from off my bed (which is 6ft in the air...), I may have to create a different strategy...:-p

  • Ugh. I just noticed I have poison ivy. Probably from the dog or weedeating at Mom's. It seems to be contained to just my elbow.

  • Great. The dog just pissed in the floor. I wonder what she is mad about...

The Main Reason I havent blogged in a few days is because I have been trying to fix this infernal computer. Its a great machine, but apparently all those times I ran defrag under windows (the default defragger) it wasnt working. So imagine a 60Gb hard drive having not been defragged in 2.5 years with somewhat frequent (although not recently) use of file sharing programs. Yes, Holy Shit™ is right. So, I have been trying to download free programs that will defrag my HD. I think I found a winner in System Mechanic 4. So far, it has ran into some problems, but those have been repaired by burning off some movies onto CD's. I cant remember the last time I had more free space than used space... Its about 40% defragged now, with about 48hours total of defragging.

Hopefully, now that I burned some more, it will go faster. I should see yall before the weekend.
